Pemberton Mountain Film Festival
Part of the Pemberton Winterfest Celebrations
The Pemberton area is a Mecca for the mountain adventure sports enthusiasts and is home to many who are interested in the artistic, cultural and social aspects of life in non-urban areas of the world and the Pemberton Mountain Film Festival (PMFF) will seek to showcase a combination of some of the best commercial and amateur films centered on the world of adventure sports and mountain life, in its broadest context.
The PMFF will be hosted at the Copperdome Lodge, located in the Pemberton Meadows. The Copperdome Lodge proudly offers a newly transformed schoolhouse that provides a recently renovated multi-purpose training facility and theatre for 50 or more people. The Copperdome Lodge is located in a rural setting surrounded by both verdant farmland and the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains - an ideal setting for the PMFF.
The PMFF will run for three nights during the Winterfest celebration, February 11th 12th and 13th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, providing an exciting mid-week addition to the action packed Winterfest calendar. Each evening will showcase a number of short to mid-length movies showcasing films in the following themes:
• February 11th – Air Sports and adventures
(e.g. paragliding, BASE-jumping, speed flying, etc.)
• February 12th – Snow Sports & Adventures
(e.g. skiing, snowboarding, sledding, etc.)
• February 13th – Water and Rock
(e.g. climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, etc.)
While the evenings and general themes will be set, the exact itinerary for each particular evening will be published and advertised a week prior to the event.
Locally sourced material along with films from independent and small producers will be highlighted whenever possible.
