CITIZEN OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS - 2008
Anna Helmer
Co-Founder and organizer of the very successful Slow Food Cycle Sunday. Tireless promoter of organic foods and the Pemberton farming community.
David MacKenzie
Community minded individual who has given his personal time and investment towards the betterment of the Community. Timeless support and energy for his contribution to many events.
Jenna Markovic
Chair of the SH Parent Advisory Council and board member of the Pemberton Child Care Society .Her dedication to these groups has resulted in the school milk program, lice program & Children's Centre playground.
Lindsay May
For her volunteer work with the elderly population of Pemberton and in particular her fitness classes and enthusiasm in making sure this group is actively involved in the community.
Arlene McClean
Arlene's continued volunteer work and fundraising in the following; Pemberton Barn Dance & Pemberton Festival, Pemberton Dragon Boat, PSS Grad & Prom, Christmas Bazaar.
Marnie Simon
Shows leadership and tireless efforts for seniors. Amazing community involvement; fundraising for the cat scan for the Sea to Sky Corridor, Rotary member, and fundraiser for the Library.
Note:
Jan & Hugh Naylor have requested their names to be removed from nominations as they feel they have already been recognized within the community. We will certainly respect their request. However, the Pemberton & District Chamber of Commerce happily wishes to acknowledge the positive impact Jan & Hugh have had within our community.
