OFFICIAL OPENING VISITOR CENTRE & PEMBERTON FAIR
Saturday, August 19th from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Pemberton Visitor Centre located on Highway 99. Chamber members will
be on site with information regarding membership in the Pemberton & District Chamber of Commerce. Also on site will be
Real Estate displays, Pemberton Arts Council , Rotary Corn Roast, and Children’s Slow Food Cycle Children’s Craft Garden.
Drop in a visit the Chambers new Visitor Centre and learn about the benefits to becoming a Chamber Member.
VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED – Volunteers are needed to assist with the Children’ event on Aug. 19th. If you can assist

SLOW FOOD SUNDAY
Sunday, August 20,2006. The Pemberton Valley’s Slow Food Cycle Sunday is a unique back-to-the-land bike ride through
the beautiful Pemberton Meadows. Riders meet local growers and sample fresh produce with the successful formula of pedaling,
snacking, socializing and slowing down. The Slow Food Cycle Sunday is free- just your wheels and your appetite. For further

PEMBERTON CHAMBER & ROTARY GOLF TOURNAMENT
Friday, September 8th , Pemberton Valley Golf & Country Club. 1 p.m. Shotgun start. Only $100 per player.
The days events include a silent auction, buffet dinner and special guests and awards.

PEMBERTON BRINGS HOME GOLD
Congratulations to the Pemberton Laoyam Eagles Dragonboat Team who returned home Monday, August 14th from the 2006 World
Dragonboat Championships in Toronto bringing with them 7 Gold Medals & cups and a 2 Bronze Medals . We are all very proud
of the accomplishments of this team not only this year but over the past 10 years .A special thanks from the Community
to their coach Dr. Hugh Fisher for his continued dedication.
NEW VILLAGE WEB SITE
The Village of Pemberton now has an updated website www.pemberton.ca. The Village
also has a Pemberton Information page appearing once a month in the Whistler Question.
ADVANCED COURSE IN EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
A 3 hours seminar Advanced course in Employment Standards is being arranged for Pemberton in Mid October. This course in
instructed by Wendy Jones who is an Employment Standards specialist. Watch for further details.
