PEMBERTON TO HOST 2007 BABE RUTH 13-15 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP – JULY 17-21, 2007
Signal Hill Ball field will be the scene of the 2007 Babe Ruth Provincial Championships starting this Wednesday at 9a.m.
Pemberton will be welcoming and competing with teams from the West Kootenays, Quesnel, Nanaimo and Whistler . Everyone
is invited to join in with our many visitors on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the BBQ by the Pemberton Rotary at the Signal
Hill Ball Field. Opening Ceremonies take place on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with the first pitch by Mayor Jordan Sturdy. Game
times are Wed.- Fri. 10 a.m., 1p.m., 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. Sat. 10 a.m. & 1 p.m. Congratulations to John Burleson and his many
volunteers who have been working so hard to prepare for this tournament and to the many sponsors who are supporting this
event.
CALL TO ACTION – PEMBERTON SPIRIT COMMITTEE
The Pemberton Spirit of BC Community Committee is calling upon the community to take action. Everyone in Pemberton can
be part of the 2010 experience If you are interested in participating or volunteering in any way please attend the Informational
Meeting on THURSDAY, JULY 19th at 7 p.m. at Signal Hill Elementary School. The Sea-to-Sky Corridor will soon become the
home of only 15 Bobsleigh, Skeleton & Luge ice tracks in the world. Learn about being a Volunteer Race official, find out
about future “Learn-to” sliding camps, support the Whistler Sliding centre & Team Canada, try out for luge, bobsleigh,
& skeleton national teams or join the Track Club at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Hear Pemberton’s plans for Winterfest
2008.
BARN DANCE TICKETS ON SALE NOW
Tickets for the Annual Pemberton Barn Dance to be held on Saturday, July 28th are on sale now at Pemberton Valley Supermarket,
Pemberton Esso, Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 201 and the Whistler Question. Tickets are $35.
