Posted on Sunday, August 22, 2010

Honourable Chuck StahlStewardship Pemberton Society is pleased to announce that the Honourable Chuck Strahl, MP for Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon (including Pemberton) and the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, will be making a presentation and funding announcement at the One Mile Lake Nature Centre Site this Friday, August 27 at 10 a.m.

Join Us at One Mile Lake

Please join us for this announcement and bring the kids and then take advantage of our great new One Mile Lake Trails! We are located across the creek from the Community Garden and a short walk from the parking available near the Chamber Information Booth located on Highway 99.

One Mile Lake Nature Centre

We have our preload on site and expect to be building in October, with the centre open early in the new year in time for our spring field trips to release our classroom coho. The One Mile Lake Nature Centre will be a hub for all of our environmental education programs including the Salmon in the Classroom (Whistler-Blackwater), after school programs, summer camps and adult education programs such as the upcoming Wetlandkeepers program. The Nature Centre will act as a welcome for visitors at the head of the One Mile Lake trails. It is our goal to continue to improve both habitat, recreational and interpretive opportunities within the park and throughout the area.
