Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers Seeking New Board Members
Posted on Sunday, August 29, 2010
A message from Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers
------------------------------------------------------------------
Sea to Sky Crime
Stoppers is a crime prevention and crime solution program
that works for all communities in the Corridor.
The non-profit volunteer society works with the RCMP Detachments
from Bowan Island up the Sea to Sky Corridor to Pemberton.
Recently, we have had some Board of Director members move on for
work and transfer reasons and we are in need of new folks to
participate on the Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers Board.
We have found that Chamber members prove to be able Board members
as they have a keen interest in crime prevention. In that regard,
my request is to be able to seek new members through your
communication system - website or newsletter.
Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers is a member of the Squamish Chamber as
the vice chair and myself live in Squamish.
Here is the message we hope you will be able to share with your
membership in your September communications:
The Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers is seeking new Board
members. This volunteer, not-for-profit society works
directly with all RCMP Detachments to help them solve crimes in the
Sea to Sky Corridor and beyond. The Board meets every 6 weeks to
review current events with the Community Policing Coordinator. Our
tasks range from authorizing tip rewards to promoting the program
throughout the Corridor. No experience necessary except an interest
in responding to crime in this area.
