New SLRD Chief Administrative Officer

Lynda FlynnThe Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynda Flynn as the new Chief Administrative Officer for the SLRD effective October 26, 2011.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, Lynda will lead the dedicated team of staff and the operations of the SLRD, and will build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders of the SLRD.

"We are very delighted to have Lynda join the team at the SLRD", stated Chair of the Board, Susie Gimse.  "With Lynda's proven leadership skills, as well as her financial and operational strengths, we are certain that she will be a great asset to our organization and region."

Lynda, a Pemberton local, brings an extremely strong background in leadership and financial roles to her new position, having lead and empowered teams through many diverse opportunities.  Lynda was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Blackcomb Aviation based out of Whistler.  Prior to joining Blackcomb Aviation, Lynda was President of Alpine Helicopters Ltd. and its subsidiary company, Alpine Aerotech Ltd., where she led a team of nearly 250 staff spread throughout BC and Alberta.  Lynda is also a former partner at

KPMG LLP, a global network of professional firms specializing in tax, audit and advisory services.

Lynda is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Honours) in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of British Columbia.  Her post-graduate work includes the Queen's School of Business Leadership Program.
