
Marketing & Event Specialist
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Marketing and Event Specialist to join our team. This role will be divided into two main components: the planning and execution of Pemberton’s Annual Golf Tournament and the development of a marketing plan for the Chamber. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in marketing strategy and event management while contributing to a key community event.

Position overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Marketing and Event Specialist to join our team. This role will be divided into two main components: the planning and execution of Pemberton’s Annual Golf Tournament and the development of a marketing plan for the Chamber. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in marketing strategy and event management while contributing to a key community event.
Working Conditions:
The role primarily operates remotely with flexible working hours. Certain tasks require presence in Pemberton. Therefore, preference will be given to local candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Plan Development:
Develop a robust marketing plan for the upcoming year by:
- Conducting market research to identify community needs and preferences.
- Assisting in defining target audiences and developing marketing strategies.
- Helping to create a content calendar for promotional materials and social media posts.
- Collaborating with the Marketing Coordinator to track and analyze campaign performance.
2. Event Management Support:
- Assist in planning and organizing the Annual Golf Tournament, including logistics, sponsors and vendor coordination.
- Develop promotional materials to market the event to the community.
- Support outreach efforts to attract participants and sponsors.
- Help coordinate on-site activities during the tournament, including setup and registration. The tournament is planned for June 19th and the successful candidate must be available that day.
Qualifications:
- Must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school full-time in the next academic year in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in marketing or event planning is an asset, but not required.
- Must provide their own work computer and phone.
