Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Marketing and Event Specialist to join our team. This role will be divided into two main components: assist with the planning of Pemberton’s Annual Golf Tournament and other chamber’s events, and support the marketing and outreach efforts for the Pemberton Chamber of Commerce. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing strategy and event management while contributing to a key community event. This role is mostly based from home with a flexible schedule, with some key events and meetings that need to be attended in person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing initiatives that support Chamber programs, events, and member engagement.
  • Conduct basic research to help identify target audiences, community interests, and opportunities for outreach.
  • Create and schedule content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels in alignment with the Chamber’s brand.
  • Support the development of promotional materials (digital and print) for events and initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on marketing activities (e.g., social media engagement, campaign performance) and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the planning and delivery of the Annual Golf Tournament and other Chamber events.
  • Assist with event logistics, including registrations, vendor coordination, sponsorship tracking, and participant communications.
  • Contribute to outreach efforts to promote events and engage sponsors, members, and the broader community.
  • Help prepare event materials and coordinate event-day activities such as setup, registration, and guest support.
  • Attend key meetings and events in person to support successful execution.

Qualifications:

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment due to funding requirements.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • Must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school full-time in the next academic year in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in marketing or event planning is an asset, but not required.
  • Live in Pemberton or surrounding areas
