GOVERNANCE TRAINING
We’re excited to be collaborating with Deb McLelland of onBOARD Governance Training to offer Members and Non-Profit Organizations “The Board Game: Your Governance Playbook”, a self-paced online course, featuring four governance training modules. It’s designed for individual directors to watch one module per quarter, then once a module is completed, come together as a board to discuss key takeaways and set priorities for the year ahead.
PRICING: $130 for two years of access. Access at anytime.
In four inspiring modules, Deb provides an overview of best practices in board governance. These modules serve as both an orientation to good governance as well as a refresher for those who have previously received governance training.
Governance MattersGovernance refers to the oversight of an organization. Proper oversight involves simple, effective monitoring systems to help your board govern properly.

OnBoard Training Facilitator
Deb Mclelland
Over the years, Deb’s passion has been to assist boards in realizing their potential by travelling around the country teaching numerous workshops on the subject.
Deb has served on many boards, including national and provincial boards, for over thirty-five years. She also worked as Executive Director at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce for nineteen years, supporting her board of directors as they transitioned to a solid governance model. Within all these experiences, she came to realize that governance, when done right, could be fun and easy. That is why she has developed templates, examples and exercises for boards to follow so that they can easily adopt the various components of good governance!
Deb has been recognized as Executive of the Year and Chamber of the Year by her provincial network and Executive of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada. Most recently, she was appointed to the Council of Excellence by a panel of her peers across the country and appointed as Fellow of the BC Chamber of Commerce.
How this course works best Instead of relying on a one-time learning experience, directors can watch just one module per quarter within their own time and at their own pace. Then, at the end of each quarter, they can come together as a board to talk about what stood out and decide what to focus on next.
You save $50 when you purchase The Board Game: Your Governance Playbook (bundles all four modules together). And with access for two full years, your board can repeat the learning cycle and deepen your governance practices in year two – a much more affordable and practical approach to governance training!
